REALTOR® Emeritus
This award, which is constitutionally authorized award, is bestowed on individuals who have maintained 40 cumulative years of membership in the National Association of REALTORS®. Local boards can request nomination forms from the National Association of REALTORS®. All nominations must then be forwarded directly to the National Association of REALTORS® with a copy sent immediately to the state association. REALTOR® Emeritus status is voted upon by the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors. When approved for emeritus status, the REALTOR® is also enrolled in the Omega Tau Rho honorary fraternity. Thus, to be honored with the OTR recipients at the state convention, the Emeritus nomination form should be submitted to NAR sometime in March, in order for the NAR Board of Directors to vote on it as its mid-year meeting. Remember, a copy of the nomination must be sent to the state association. The REALTOR® Emeritus plaque and 40-year pin are awarded at the local board level. The state association recognizes the Omega Tau Rho status.
