MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) honored Mark Moody with the Mickey Phillips’ REALTORS® for Children Award at the AAR 2011 Leadership Conference at Embassy Suites Hotel.
In honor of Mickey Phillips, a REALTOR® who devoted countless hours to children’s charities, this award recognizes the efforts of a member who has devoted time and resources to unselfishly invest in children through projects or programs focusing on the needs of children.
Moody, a member of the Morgan County Board of REALTORS®, is the broker/owner of four real estate companies in North Alabama. He served as president of his local board, AAR regional vice president and is a member of the AAR Board of Directors.
Moody, founder of MarMac Charities, devotes his free time to his community. He is able to send funds to 11 local charities through profits made with his establishment, Hope Home Thrift Store. The charities benefiting from Moody’s efforts include Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Carnegie Visual Arts Center, Sav-a-life Pregnancy Center and Pact Family Resource Center. Moody has served on the Morgan County Mental Health Board, State of Alabama Hi Ways and Bi Ways Advisory Board and Children’s Trust Board.
Margaret Martin, 2008 recipient of the Mickey Phillips’ REALTORS® for Children Award, presented Moody with this honor.
“Mark is a very special person who loves working with children’s charities,” said Martin. “I couldn’t imagine this award going to a more deserving person then Mark.”
The Alabama Association of REALTORS® is the voice of real estate in Alabama. AAR is the trade association for real estate professionals who work in the residential, commercial property management, resort and appraisal markets.
