Montgomery, Ala.- The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) awarded Randy McKinney, a member of the Baldwin County Association of REALTORS®, the David D. Robert, Sr., award at its annual convention in Charleston, SC.

This award is given in honor of David D. Roberts, Sr., a distinguished Alabama REALTOR® who served as president of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in 1985. It recognizes the member who has been a REALTOR® over a period of at least 20 years and who has contributed greatly to the member’s local board, AAR and NAR.

During McKinney’s 33 years as a REALTOR® member he has chaired and been a member of numerous committees and task forces at the local, state and national level. He served as president of AAR in 2005, and in 2008 he was appointed region five vice president by NAR with responsibilities to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and the Virigin Islands. McKinney served as a member of the NAR board of directors for 13 years and in the following positions at NAR; 1997 Vice Chair of the Commercial & Investment Business Forum; 2001 Chair of the Marketing Forum; and 2002 Forum Chair of the National Convention Advisory Group.

He is not only dedicated to the real estate profession, but to his community. McKinney was instrumental in promoting charitable efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina and victims of the tornadoes that swept through Enterprise. He played a key role in securing funds for real estate professionals on the Gulf Coast who suffered due to the BP oil spill. He is an advocate for education and currently serves on the State Board of Education.

Jimmie Ann Campbell, the 2009 David D. Roberts, Sr. recipient, presented McKinney with the highest honor given by the association.

“Randy is a person who exemplifies the very core of what professionalism means,” said Campbell. “He is a person of integrity. A person with heart and desire to provide exceptional service to clients, friends, family and community.”
