MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) honored the Wiregrass Board of REALTORS® (WBOR) with the Robert C. Meeks ARPAC Award at the AAR 2010 Leadership Conference in Montgomery, Ala.

The Robert C. Meeks ARPAC Award is giving in honor of Robert C. Meeks, an Alabama REALTOR, who was ARPAC (Alabama REALTOR Political Action Committee) chairman twice and led AAR to become one of the most involved and successful associations in state and federal governmental and political affairs.

The WBOR became very involved in raising funds for ARPAC. With 79% of their membership participating in giving to ARPAC, WBOR was able to exceed their goal by 218%. Several silent auctions were held at the annual membership luncheons, as well as raising awareness about the benefits of giving to ARPAC. The WBOR also formed a grass-roots committee to educate and encourage the membership to respond and communicate with their local legislators.
