David Hughes
Associate Professor, Ph.D.
Dr. David Hughes is an associate professor in the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Department of Political Science and Public Administration. His primary areas of expertise are in American politics, the politics of the American South, judicial politics, and statistical research methods. His research appears in numerous peer-reviewed scientific outlets including Political Behavior, the Journal of Law and Courts, and Political Research Quarterly. He is also currently the director of the AUM Poll—the only public opinion poll conducted by an Alabama university currently gauging residents’ political preferences. Dr. Hughes earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Montevallo in 2011 and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2016. A native of St. Clair County, Alabama, Dr. Hughes is a longtime resident of the state.
Evan Moore
Professor, Ph.D.
Dr. Evan Moore is Professor of Economics at Auburn University at Montgomery. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. He has published articles in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economics and Finance, and the International Review of Economics Education. He previously served as Head of the Economics Department, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, and editor of the Southern Business and Economic Journal. Dr. Moore has presented research at national and international conferences. Finally, he has received funding support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Swedish Competition Authority.
