Broker and Legal Risk Management Focus Groups

An opportunity for brokers to participate in focus groups, surveys, and give feedback in helping the Association identify practical implications of legal and risk management issues and topics affecting the real estate industry.
REALTOR® Day at State Capitol
Time Commitment: Low
REALTORS® and Association leaders come together to meet with legislators to advocate for private property rights and speak in unison on issues that pertain to real estate in Alabama. The afternoon begins with a State Issues Briefing followed by a visit to the Alabama State House to meet with legislators about important issues affecting the real estate industry and concludes with our annual State and Legislative Leadership Reception at the AAR building. This event takes place as part of Capitol Conference in the first quarter of the year.
ARPAC and Advocacy Awards Lunch
Time Commitment: Low
This event is a celebration of the Association’s ARPAC and Advocacy success each year. Honorees are local boards and their leadership who have exceeded the ARPAC and Advocacy goals that year. The event takes place as part of Capitol Conference in the first quarter of the year.
State and Legislative Leadership Reception
Time Commitment: Low
The annual State and Legislative Leadership Reception is held at the conclusion of REALTOR® Day. Members are able to meet with our state and legislative leaders to discuss important issues affecting the real estate industry. The event takes place as part of Capitol Conference in the first quarter of the year.
Major Investor Receptions
Time Commitment: Low
Major Investor Receptions are exclusive benefits for members who are passionate about supporting and investing in the Alabama REALTOR® Political Action Committee. Receptions are held throughout the year across the state and provide an opportunity to meet with state and legislative leaders to discuss important issues affecting the real estate industry and build relationships with fellow members who share a passion for supporting and investing in ARPAC.
ARPAC Investor
Time Commitment: Low
The REALTORS® Political Action Committee is the only investment dedicated to furthering the interests of our real estate industry in our nation’s capital, state legislatures and city halls. Alabama RPAC (ARPAC) supports candidates for local and state office who support real estate professionals on key real estate issues important to our members. Whether you are a brand-new member or seasoned veteran, ARPAC offers a variety of investment levels so every REALTOR® can get involved.
Public Policy Forum
Time Commitment: Low
The Public Policy Forum allows our local boards and members to discuss issues affecting them in their markets and give input and feedback to help shape AAR’s public policy statements and agenda. The Forum is moderated by AAR’s Public Policy Committee and is typically held in late summer/early fall each year.
Federal Political Coordinator (FPC)
Time Commitment: Moderate
FPCs conduct and oversee grassroots activities in each (federal) congressional district that help to develop and maintain a relationship with their Member of Congress/Senator. They are expected to keep thecommunications loopmoving by providing NAR with field reports, fulfill FPC training requirements, and promote responses to NAR Calls for Action in their congressional district or state.
Public Policy Committee
Time Commitment: High
The Public Policy Committee plans and coordinates the public policy agenda of the Association. Members use their expertise for gathering information, discerning issues, and employing their awareness of the political process to assimilate information.
Alabama REALTORS® Political Action Committee (ARPAC) Trustees
Time Commitment: High
The ARPAC Trustees support candidates who are knowledgeable of and sympathetic to REALTOR® issues for the purpose of developing governmental policies, legislation, administration, and finances for the advancement of the cause of good government.
