On June 1, the Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) published a proposed amendment to the rule on continuing education (CE) for real estate licensees. Currently, licensees are required to take six hours of risk management courses and nine hours of general, approved courses for a total of 15 hours of courses. The proposed amendment maintains the 15 total hours, but reduces the number of risk management course hours to three and increases the general coursework to 12 hours of approved courses.
