Online Real Estate License Renewals Available

The Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) opened online license renewals on June 15, 2020, for active and inactive licenses. Licenses renewed after August 31, 2020, will be subject to a penalty fee. Licenses expire and will be placed on inactive status if not renewed by September 30, 2020. Click here to login to AREC’s online services and renew.
Keep in mind some other important dates and information from AREC:
- Continuing Education (CE) Deadline Extended - The 15-hour CE requirement deadline was extended to December 31, 2020. While AREC is considering changing the structure of these courses, the current rules require six hours of risk management courses and nine hours of general, approved coursework.
- Virtual Education - AREC has also approved the use of virtual platforms for continuing education courses. Go to AREC’s course search here for approved courses.
- Proposed CE Rule Change – AREC is seeking public input on a proposed rule to change CE course requirements by removing one of the three-hour risk management courses and increasing the general coursework allowed. Click here for more information on the proposed rule change and comment instructions.
