The 2025 Alabama REALTORS® Board of Directors met on Thursday, December 12 at the Alabama REALTORS® Building in Montgomery for their first meeting of the new year. The Board conducted annual board training and orientation, reviewed goals for 2025, discussed legal challenges affecting our members’ businesses, updated the Board on pending Association projects; shared feedback on future Association business; and conducted other Association business. Following the meeting, directors enjoyed a holiday-themed lunch and fellowship at AAR. A summary of the action can be found below:

• Legal Report: The Board received a legal update regarding nationwide lawsuits, the final approval of the Seller Class Action case, Alabama legal developments, and external legal challenges.
• 2025 Statewide Legal Forms: The 2025 Statewide Legal Forms will launch on January 2, 2025. For training opportunities in your area, please contact al.realtor@alabamarealtors.com.
• Fair Housing, Bias, and Diversity Grant: AAR will offer the Fair Housing, Bias, and Diversity Grant in 2025 for Local Boards. Fair Housing classes will also be available virtually in Spring 2025.
• Alabama REALTORS® Foundation Scholarship: The Alabama REALTORS® Foundation Education Scholarship is open for applications for the Fall 2025 school year. Applications are open now through December 31, 2024. If you know of a member with an eligible child or grandchild, please share this information with them.
• Local Board and Broker Visits: The Board received an update on visits to local boards and brokerages in 2024. AAR has participated in more than 100 townhall meetings across the state during the last 12 months. 
• Dues Billing and Membership Requests: The Board received an update on the start of the dues billing season which begins in October and runs through March. The Association is seeing an increase in requests for MLS Only subscriptions and requests to become At Large Members or Affiliate Members of AAR.  
• Blue Sky Session: The Board participated in a Blue-Sky Session to explore opportunities for growth, current member business challenges, and future association opportunities in 2025, focusing on AAR’s member value.
• REALTOR® Day at the Capitol 2025: Registration is now open for REALTOR® Day at the Capitol, which will be held on February 11-12, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama.
